The 12 cm height is not a uniform slab
The product has a sculpted butterfly contour, so the listed 12 cm maximum height does not mean every point under the head and neck is 12 cm tall. The central head area and curved edges create different effective heights across the sleeping surface.
Who may perceive the pillow as low or high?
Side sleepers
People with broader shoulders generally need more space between the mattress and head when side sleeping, especially on a firm mattress. A sleeper with narrow shoulders or a softer mattress may need less.
Back sleepers
Back sleeping usually requires less loft than side sleeping. The central contour can reduce the effective head height compared with measuring the highest outer edge.
Stomach sleepers
Stomach sleepers typically use the lowest loft because the head is rotated to one side. Some may find a fixed contoured pillow too tall even when the seller markets it for stomach use.
Derila height-adjustment accessory
The seller currently offers a separate height-adjustment accessory that adds approximately 1.5 cm of memory-foam lift. It is not included with the standard pillow and should not be confused with the pillow’s base dimensions.
Fit principle: dimensions are useful for comparing products, but pillow fit also depends on shoulder width, mattress firmness, sleeping position and personal preference.
